Oxford Union – Kurupt FM Q&A

Written by Nasir Hamid on January 17th, 2019

Kurupt FM (AKA the guys from the BAFTA award winning comedy series ‘People just do nothing’) came to the Oxford Union for a Q&A event and I went along to photograph them. If you’ve never seen the show I highly recommend it – you can find it on BBC iPlayer.

[Tech info:] Leica M6, 40/1.4 Voigtlander Nokton, Ilford Delta 400 developed in Ilford DDX 1+4. Pakon scans.

Hi, just came across your blog from another recomendation online. Beautiful results from your Pakon. Do you mind sharing how you scan / your Pakon settings? Thanks, James.

      Hey James,
In the Pakon scanning software I use the mode that allows you to adjust the brightness/contrast of each scan as you go along. I use the icon with the colour balance controls and use the sliders to adjust the b&w scans.

It sounds weird but give it a try. Each colour slider affects the image differently — highlights, shadows, brightness, contrast. It was just by chance that I discovered this after using the Pakon for at least a couple of years!
